This plaque was inspired by my love of the movie Onibaba and the hannya and kijo characters in Japanese Noh plays in general. I knew I wanted to push my pieces further by incorporating more mixed media when I came across a pack of washi paper I’d been hanging onto and it seemed like the perfect place to start.

Hannya Plaque was laser cut on multi-layered birch wood, hand painted with wood stain and acrylic paint, and layered with washi paper. Plaque measured 11.2" width x 15.5" height
